LÀ OÙ LA BEAUTÉ ET LE SENS SE RENCONTRENT

There is something immediately endearing about Frankie and Margie standing at opposite ends of this bowl. Both impeccably dressed, of course.

Frankie, with his extraordinary antlers and spectacles, and Margie, equally distinguished in her own woodland attire, appear to have taken responsibility for carrying whatever treasures happen to be gathered between them.

And they seem to be taking the assignment quite seriously.

Both belong to Canadian artist and author Jessica Hiemstra's Eric + Eloise Framily. Frankie appears with Eric, Eloise and Louie in While the Forest is Sleeping, while Margie joins the gathering of woodland characters in Charlie in Spring. Their storybook world grew from Jessica's childhood among the forests of Canada and her love of animals, friendship and a little unexpected wonder.

Here, that world becomes something we can live with.

Finished in warm antique gold, the elongated bowl is held between the two woodland figures, transforming a useful vessel into something wonderfully sculptural.

We brought the Frankie & Margie Friendship Bowl into Meadows & Muse because it feels made for gathering.

Flowers from the garden. Seed heads from an Autumn walk. Pinecones found beneath the trees. Or simply the small things we want to keep somewhere beautiful.

For now, Frankie and Margie arrive just as they are.
