The natural world, observed.

Photographie botanique

Not staged. Not constructed. Simply noticed. Michael's botanical photographs begin with what nature offers—a particular light, an unexpected composition, a moment that might easily have passed unnoticed. Each limited-edition work preserves the scene exactly as he discovered it.

Photographs Worth Looking At Slowly.

BEHIND THE LENS

He was noticing long before there was Imaginary Meadows.

I've carried a camera for much of my life, but I've never been particularly interested in asking nature to perform for it.

I would rather wait.

The photographs in this collection are moments I came upon exactly as they were, a flower turning toward the light, the structure of a plant at the end of its season, something ordinary made remarkable simply because I happened to notice it.

I don't rearrange what I find. I don't need nature to be perfect.

My job is simply to notice when it gives me something worth remembering.

NUMBERED. DOCUMENTED. LIMITED.

Once the edition is complete, it is complete.

Each photograph is released in a deliberately limited edition, with fewer works available as the scale increases.

A close-up lifestyle shot of a man with glasses and a beard signing a 'Certificate of Authenticity' on a rustic wooden table. The scene is warmly lit, showing his hands, the pen, and the document clearly.

THE PROVENANCE OF YOUR WORK

Certificate of Authenticity

Each work is accompanied by its Certificate of Authenticity, documenting its place within the edition and its provenance as part of Michael's Botanical Photography collection.

HOW THE EDITIONS WORK

The Larger the Work, the Rarer the Edition.

Each edition belongs to the photograph and size, regardless of the presentation selected. Choosing Fine-Art Print or Canvas does not create a separate edition.

Made for more than the moment.

FROM IMAGE TO ARTWORK

Each photograph is produced with the same care Michael brings to making the image itself.

Fine-Art Prints are created on 308 GSM cotton rag using archival giclée inks rated for 200+ years, preserving the detail, depth and subtlety of the original photograph.

Canvas works are printed on extra-thick 400 GSM poly-cotton canvas using Green Certified HP inks rated to resist fading for 200 years. Each canvas is expertly stretched by hand in Canada over a 1½-inch kiln-dried Canadian basswood frame, selected for its strength and resistance to warping, while the substantial canvas is designed to remain beautifully taut over time.

From the first exposure to the final presentation, every detail is considered with longevity in mind.

Secure Delivery

Custom-engineered packaging ensures your framed art arrives in pristine condition.

Provenance Included

Each print includes details of its origin and specific archival care instructions.

Fine Art Standards

Built with conservation-grade glass and acid-free mats for lifelong durability.

Imagine noticing it differently every day.

Morning light catches something you hadn't seen before. From across the room, it is a composition. Come closer, and it becomes a leaf, a petal, a shadow, a moment Michael once stopped long enough to notice.

And perhaps, over time, you begin noticing a little more outside your own window too.

Some photographs don't simple show us nature.

They remind us to keep looking.

Your Questions, Answered.

Yes. Every photograph in Michael’s Botanical Photography collection is released as a numbered limited edition, with the edition becoming smaller as the size increases.

12 × 16 — Edition of 30
18 × 24 — Edition of 20
24 × 32 — Edition of 10

Once an edition for a particular photograph and size has been completed, no additional works will be produced in that edition.

Both presentations begin with the same original photograph and belong to the same limited edition for their size.

The Fine-Art Print is produced on 308 GSM cotton rag paper using archival giclée inks and is available professionally framed in ashwood with acid-free materials and museum-grade acrylic.

The Canvas offers a different expression of the same photograph, with the image presented on a more textural surface.

Choosing one presentation over the other does not create a separate edition. For example, there are only 20 works available in the 18 × 24 edition of a photograph, regardless of how many are ordered as Fine-Art Prints or Canvas.

Yes. Every limited-edition work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity documenting the photograph, its size, its place within the edition, and its provenance as part of Michael’s Botanical Photography collection.

Your certificate becomes part of the history of the work and should be kept with it throughout its lifetime.

Michael’s Fine-Art Prints are created on 308 GSM cotton rag paper using archival giclée inks selected for exceptional colour, detail, and longevity.

Framed works are finished in ashwood and assembled using archival, acid-free materials and museum-grade acrylic. The intention is not simply to reproduce the photograph beautifully, but to present and protect it according to fine-art standards for years to come.

We take great care to represent Michael’s photographs as faithfully as possible online. However, screens display colour and brightness differently, so subtle variations between what you see on your device and the finished work are natural.

The physical work also reveals qualities a screen cannot fully reproduce—particularly the depth, fine detail, surface and tonal nuances of a professionally produced photograph.

Every work is carefully prepared for its journey using protective packaging appropriate to its size and presentation. Framed works receive additional protection to help ensure they arrive safely and in pristine condition.

Once your artwork has completed production and is ready to leave us, you'll receive shipping confirmation and tracking information so you can follow its journey home.
