POURQUOI CES FLEURS SONT DIFFÉRENTES

La plupart des pièces décoratives sont oubliées. Celle-ci se fait remarquer – à chaque fois.

There comes a point in Autumn when the garden seems to lower its voice.

Flowers become fewer. Grasses turn to straw. Seed heads appear where blossoms once grew. Bare stems and wandering twigs begin to emerge from places that, only weeks earlier, were filled with colour.

And suddenly, we notice them.

After following so many unexpected colours and forms through The Turning, I felt compelled to create one wreath from the quieter language we instinctively associate with Autumn.

Layer upon layer of dried grasses, stems and seeds were gathered together, their natural irregularity left intact. Small curls and pods appear among them almost as they might be discovered in the garden—details that become easier to see once the flowers are no longer asking for our attention.

A long velvet ribbon brings one final softness to a wreath otherwise shaped by texture, movement and everything the season has allowed to dry and mature.

There is abundance here, although it is a different kind from summer.

The garden has not become empty.

It has simply become quiet enough for us to notice what was there all along.

Michele dispose chaque pièce à la main. Elle n'utilise aucune formule. Elle travaille avec la forme naturelle de chaque tige jusqu'à ce que la composition lui semble juste. Le résultat est quelque chose qui semble à la fois sauvage et intentionnel, comme un coin de véritable jardin, figé dans le temps.

Le vase lui-même est une sculpture. C'est le genre de pièce qui s'approprie son espace où que vous la placiez, et ce pour les années à venir. Vos invités la remarqueront et demanderont : « Où avez-vous trouvé ça ? »

LES BOTANIQUES UTILISÉS DANS CETTE PIÈCE :

A lyrical study in agrarian grace and fluid movement, Ornamental Rice is celebrated for its weeping, arching panicles laden with delicate, overlapping grain spikelets. Harvested just as the heavy heads begin their characteristic downward bow, each stem dries into an exquisite palette of warm flaxen gold, biscuity straw, or dramatic dark-burgundy bronze.

A majestic emblem of the autumn harvest, Ornamental Sorghum commands attention with its heavy, sweeping panicles laden with polished, bead-like grains. Harvested at peak maturity and naturally cured to preserve its robust architectural weight, each dramatic plume reveals an opulent tapestry of earthy tones—ranging from warm amber and toasted bronze to deep mahogany and inky black.

Spider Wood introduces an untamed, sculptural gravity to our fine-art collections. Sourced from the twisted, gnarly root systems of Asian rhododendron, each hand-selected specimen showcases a labyrinth of sweeping branches and deeply fissured grain.

A celebration of organic geometry and rustic sculpture, Cane Cones are distinguished by their graceful, spiral-wound silhouettes and natural wooden stems. Artfully crafted from dried, peeled botanical cane and flexible palm vine (Calamus), each cone tapers into a coiled, stylized pagoda form that echoes the rhythm of a woodland pinecone.

Curly Ting Ting

Playful, spiralling stems that add a whimsical final touch - the detail that makes you look twice. These are often dyed to complement the piece.

Quaker Oat Grass

Featuring dainty, heart-shaped seed heads that dangle with every breeze, this grass adds a sense of light, airy movement and organic grace. One of Michele's favourite for add motion to her pieces.
