WHY THESE FLOWERS ARE DIFFERENT

Most decorative pieces are forgotten. This one gets noticed - every time.

Not every sign of Autumn arrives in burgundy, russet or gold. Sometimes the season reveals itself by taking colour away.

Flowers soften toward cream. Grasses fade to wheat. Stems dry to parchment. And without the brightness that once commanded our attention, we begin to notice other things. The architecture of a flower, the delicacy of a seed head, the way a dried stem catches the afternoon light.

That was what drew me to these botanicals.

Natural white Helichrysums and Ammobium alatum bring their wonderfully papery blooms among soft Lagurus, Phalaris and Rye Grass, while dried Bupleurum rises loosely above them, its fine branching stems giving the arrangement the feeling of something gathered rather than composed.

Together, their colours seem almost sun-bleached, as though Summer has slowly withdrawn and left some of its light behind.

And perhaps it has.

Because the garden does not lose its beauty when its brightest colours begin to disappear. It simply asks something different of us.

To look a little closer at what the light left behind.

Michele arranges every single piece by hand. She doesn't use a formula. She works with the natural shape of each stem until the composition feels right. The result is something that looks both wild and intentional - like a corner of a real garden, stopped in time.

The vessel itself is a sculpture. It's the kind of piece that owns its space where ever you place it - for years to come. Your guests will notice it and ask: "Where did you get that?"

THE BOTANICALS USED IN THIS PIECE:

Rye Grass

Featuring slender, arching stems and delicate seed heads, Rye Grass provides a graceful, linear movement and a soft, "field-grown" aesthetic.

Laguras ovatus

Often called Bunny Tails, these soft, fuzzy plumes offer an irresistible tactile luxury and a gentle "whimsical" movement.

Bupleurum

Known for its dainty "star" clusters, Bupleurum adds a refreshing, airy transparency and a sense of light, "fresh-cut" vitality. Sometimes dyed to add a hint of contrast to one of Michele's creations.

Helichrysum (Strawflowers)

A warm luminous bloom, the star in most arrangements. It holds its colour and shape for years after preservation.

These delicate blooms feature crisp, paper-white petals surrounding a sun-bright golden centre. They bring a cheerful, wildflower-meadow energy to any arrangement, maintaining their structural "pop" and pristine colour for years to come.

Phalaris (Canary Grass)

These soft, egg-shaped plumes offer a playful, tactile texture and a charming "field-grown" aesthetic.

"Truly one-of-a-kind, as no two arrangements can ever look alike, just as Mother Nature intended."
