WHY THESE FLOWERS ARE DIFFERENT

Most decorative pieces are forgotten. This one gets noticed - every time.

This was where The Autumn Studio Capsule, The Turning began.

Not with an idea for an Autumn collection, but with a colour palette the garden had quietly created on its own.

The bracken had deepened into an extraordinary burgundy. Soft pink spray roses had begun to take on the muted, antiqued character that comes with drying. Against them, deeper pink gypsophila brought tiny points of colour through the darkness.

I couldn't stop looking at them together.

There was Autumn, without any of the colours I might have expected.

It was softer. Deeper. More complex.

And once I noticed it, I began seeing the season differently everywhere I looked.

The First Turning was created from that observation, allowing the sweeping movement of preserved bracken to form its foundation while small gatherings of roses and gypsophila appear throughout—as though remnants of the garden are still finding their way through the changing foliage.

It became the first piece in a collection about noticing what happens when we stop asking the garden to remain as it was.

And perhaps that is how a season really begins.

Not when the calendar tells us it has changed.

But when we finally notice that it has.

Michele arranges every single piece by hand. She doesn't use a formula. She works with the natural shape of each stem until the composition feels right. The result is something that looks both wild and intentional - like a corner of a real garden, stopped in time.

The vessel itself is a sculpture. It's the kind of piece that owns its space where ever you place it - for years to come. Your guests will notice it and ask: "Where did you get that?"

THE BOTANICALS USED IN THIS PIECE:

Tiny fairy-like delicate star shaped blooms add a layer of softness and romance. Michele often uses it as a misty filler or a standalone "cloud" arrangement.

Bracken, Preserved

With its intricate, sprawling fronds, Bracken captures the ancient beauty of the forest floor, offering a warm, deep burgundy architectural depth. One of Michele's favourite ingredients. 

Spray Roses, Dried

Dainty and clustered, preserved spray roses bring a soft, romantic "meadow" abundance and a fine-art delicacy to every design.
