There is something about a sunflower near the end of the season that feels different from one in midsummer.

Perhaps it is because we know the days are becoming shorter.

The garden is beginning to turn inward. Flowers are giving way to seeds, evenings arrive a little earlier, and slowly we begin carrying the rituals of the season back inside.

The Last Sun seemed made for that moment.

Its exterior is intricately sculpted with sunflowers, leaves and curling botanical details, giving the candle the appearance of a small botanical carving. Even before it is lit, there is something wonderfully tactile about it, the kind of object that rewards a closer look.
