WHEN IT'S GONE, IT'S GONE

For the gardener who also knits. Or the knitter who has always wanted a garden.

Some books are beautiful objects before you even open them. This is one of those books.

Knits from Our Gardens is the work of four Scandinavian designers, seasoned knitters and passionate gardeners, who have each brought their own outdoor world into a collection of twenty knitting and crochet patterns. The result is something quietly extraordinary: a book that smells faintly of soil, thinks in seasons, and understands that the most meaningful creative work grows from the same place as the most meaningful gardens, from patient attention, from love of the process, and from a willingness to let nature lead.

The patterns move through every season and every wardrobe. Garments, accessories, and two designs for children, each one coloured by the garden that inspired it. Between the patterns, the authors share their stories. A tiny urban oasis tended in London. Birdsong in a historic mill town. The particular charm of an allotment garden. A grandmother's garden, reimagined with a modern hand.

WHERE BEAUTY MEETS MEANING

There is a particular kind of person who understands that knitting and gardening are not such different things. Both ask for slowness. Both reward attention. Both produce something that did not exist before — shaped entirely by the hands and the hours you chose to give them.

Knits from Our Gardens was made by four women who live that understanding. It arrives at Imaginary Meadows because we believe the objects we surround ourselves with should reflect the life we are trying to build — one that is creative, seasonal, rooted in nature, and genuinely worth slowing down for.

Place it on the reading chair. Open it in October. Begin something beautiful.

PERFECT PLACEMENT IN YOUR HOME

Style it on a walnut side table beside a ceramic mug and a small gathered stem of dried grasses, where its olive linen cover introduces a quiet note of craft and creativity into the corner of the room you return to most.

Or place it in a woven basket alongside your current project, where it becomes part of the ritual rather than simply a reference — a reminder that what you are making with your hands is connected to something larger, and older, and deeply worth continuing.
