There is something wonderfully defiant about a dahlia. Just as the garden begins showing all the familiar signs of Autumn, dahlias continue to bloom. They grow larger and more extravagant, carrying their colour through shortening days until the first frost finally brings the season to its close.

At 5.5 inches across, she has the generous scale of the dahlias we know from the garden. Layer upon layer of ceramic petals open outward from a tightly gathered centre, creating the extraordinary fullness that makes the real flower so irresistible to look at and, in our case, photograph.
