A Change in the Air

WHY THESE FLOWERS ARE DIFFERENT

Most decorative pieces are forgotten. This one gets noticed - every time.

The first signs of autumn are not always found in turning leaves.

Sometimes they appear more quietly—in berries ripening along a garden path, flowers taking on deeper tones, or a familiar landscape suddenly feeling different than it did only days before.

A Change in the Air began with one of those small observations. Blackberries growing in a neighbourhood garden offered an unexpected thought: what if their dark, sculptural beauty could be preserved?

From that moment, the arrangement began to take shape.

A softly whitewashed Banksia Speciosa rises among dried blackberries, everlasting Helichrysums, deep red Plumosum and dark blue Bupleurum. Together, their colours resist the expected palette of autumn. Instead, they capture the more elusive moment between seasons—when summer has not entirely disappeared, but the garden has begun to turn.

Held within a sculptural concrete vessel, the botanicals seem almost to emerge from thought itself.

Perhaps every change begins this way: first as something quietly noticed.

Michele arranges every single piece by hand. She doesn't use a formula. She works with the natural shape of each stem until the composition feels right. The result is something that looks both wild and intentional - like a corner of a real garden, stopped in time.

The vessel itself is a sculpture. It's the kind of piece that owns its space where ever you place it - for years to come. Your guests will notice it and ask: "Where did you get that?"

"Truly one-of-a-kind, as no two arrangements can ever look alike, just as Mother Nature intended."

THE BOTANICALS USED IN THIS PIECE:

A true masterpiece of nature, these large, serrated blooms offer a complex, geometric texture and a luxury, contemporary "statement" look.

A timeless symbol of enduring beauty and radian warmth, Helichrysum Immortelle is renowned for its tight, rounded clusters of button-like blossoms.

Featuring dark, preserved berries on thorny stems, these bring an evocative "foraged" mood and a rich, midnight-hued contrast to your work.

Plumosum (female0), Preserved

Featuring a distinct cone-like centre and feathery, star-shaped bracts, Plumosum adds a luxury, contemporary geometric texture.

Bupleurum

Known for its dainty "star" clusters, Bupleurum adds a refreshing, airy transparency and a sense of light, "fresh-cut" vitality. Sometimes dyed to add a hint of contrast to one of Michele's creations.
